Fire Pixie, fae moniker of thirty-year-old Erin
Glover, is an outgoing, extraverted fairy with a fearless
and playful personality. Due to her mischievous
nature at a local Renaissance Faire, the guild mistress
there dubbed her a “pixie”. At the
same time, she was learning fire dancing, which has
become a major part of her life and business. The
two were put together and Fire Pixie was born!
Fire
Pixie (and her crew) has been entertaining at birthdays,
weddings, bat/bar mitzvahs and college & formal
dances for 12 years, 3 of those years as a “professional
pixie.” Due to popular culture, she portrays clowns, princesses,
rock stars and diva characters in addition to fairies. Demand for fairy
characters helped expand Fire Pixie Entertainment’s offerings as well as
bring Fire Pixie to the forefront.
The children’s parties are interactive
and creative. Guests are painted
up and encouraged to put on a play where they are the
stars. Customized
menus featuring balloon animals, magic, bubbles, stories,
songs, and more ensure that the birthday child and
his or her guests will not experience the same party
twice. While Fire Pixie entertains with exotic
fire shows for 40 year olds, her love of entertaining
children keeps the 4-6 year olds happy with her lovable
characters. Recently a male employee has been
hired on to entertain as Spiderman, a Pirate and other
masculine characters for boys!
Costuming is inspired
by everything from Bellydancers to Hip Hop and anything
sparkly and shiny is highly desired! Art clothing
and jewelry finds from Renaissance Faires find their
way into Fire Pixie’s wardrobe to add sparkle
and magic to her look. She enjoys creating, accessorizing
and decorating her costumes and it shows. A look
at her website shows a fabulous array of colorfully
costumed characters, among them the serene Fairy Princess,
playful Balloon Pixie, springy Tinkerbelle and Renaissance-flavored
Woodland Fairy.
Fire Pixie enjoys informing people
that she is a “professional pixie” on
a regular basis. She is most fond of painting
a little girl’s face,
having her gaze into a mirror and say, “I am
beautiful”, encouraging
self-esteem and the feeling of being loved. Her
feeling is that most little girls truly want to believe
in magic and beauty, that life in a big-city world
simply doesn’t hold enough whimsy. It is
her hope that they will always remember their experience
with Fire Pixie, loving themselves and shining their
beauty out into the world, long after they forget who
it was that inspired that beauty.
